Geraldene's Matric Dance

A little more than a week ago it was my brother's fiance's sister's (Geraldene) Matric Dance. This is such a big moment for any girl - that day to celebrate the end of a very long time spent at school, the day to look and feel like a princess. For most girls this is probably the second biggest event of their lives, the first being their wedding. And even if the magic of the night doesn't live up to expectations for most of us, the events preceding the dinner are all rather exciting and truly magical. It feels amazing to wear that dress you've dreamed of for such a long time and to be the beauty in the spotlight for a couple of hours. I tried to capture this big event for Geraldene as best I could, so she could have something to look back at in the years to come to remember this day by.
